1000 Top Clubs in the World - December, 2025
Q4 2025 Global Club Ranking – Highlights & Storylines
PSG maintained its top position in the World, although the fourth quarter was uneven for the club. On the one hand, it won the FIFA Intercontinental Cup, but on the other, it lost to Bayern in the Champions League and drew with Athletic Bilbao, and in the French league it is “only” in second place, which is unusual for PSG.
PSG secured its position in the world rankings thanks to the poor performance of Real Madrid, which was ranked second in September. Real is only in 7th place in the Champions League and 2nd in La Liga, which caused it to drop to 3rd place in the world.
Arsenal, on the other hand, has moved up, leading both the Premier League and the Champions League, and has risen from fourth to second place in the world.
A new king has emerged in South America. Flamengo won both the Copa Libertadores and the Brazilian league, and played PSG as an equal in the Intercontinental Cup final.
In Asia, Al-Hilal remains the continent’s leader. The leader of the Saudi league and the leader of the Asian Champions League Elite league phase is significantly ahead of the other clubs. Al-Ahli, which seemed to be trying to take over the leading position, is clearly losing both in the Champions League Elite and in the Saudi league.
There is also no threat from clubs in East Asia. The best of them, Kawasaki Frontale, which climbed to the top in previous editions of the ranking due to reaching the final of the previous Champions League, has now moved down 22 places in the ranking as it is not currently participating in any international competitions and is only eighth in the domestic league.
In North America, there are no significant changes at the top, with the Champions Cup only starting in 2026. Inter Miami and Vancouver strengthened their positions by reaching the MLS final, but it was not enough to overtake Cruz Azul. However, the leaders in Central America and the Caribbean have changed. Both Alajuelense and Mount Pleasant owe their ranking positions to winning their regional cups.
In Africa, the top positions remain unchanged, with Al-Ahly SC and Mamelodi Sundowns leading the way. Pyramids won the Super Cup and is performing well in the league, which allowed it to move up 25 positions and almost overtake Espérance.
