ELO UEFA – International Matches – Leagues & Clubs Performance Rankings
Each club is awarded points following a match outcome based on the ELO method scheme. Points are calculated based on the relative strength of both opponents and an expected outcome factor, taking into account the importance of the match, the outcome, and the goal difference. Club points are utilized to rank the clubs. The points for clubs are then converted to league scores. All international matches arranged or recognized by FIFA or the continental federation are covered by rankings. This mainly covers the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League in Europe. Continental ranking versus Global ranking
There are two types of rankings.  The first (visible on this page) is the Continental Ranking, also known as the Baseline Ranking or ELO Ranking. The second ranking is the Global Ranking, also known as the Real-World Ranking. The Continental (Baseline) Ranking is a single-factor ranking. It is based on the results of clubs in international club competitions (Champions League, Europa League, etc.) and only from this perspective it allows you to evaluate leagues or clubs solely of one (albeit key) factor. The ELO method is used in this ranking. The Continental (Baseline) Ranking is created separately for each continental federation. In the Continental (Baseline) Ranking, you will never see a club that does not play in international competitions (e.g., clubs from England or Spain from the middle of the national league table). The Continental (Baseline) Ranking has two forms: the ranking of countries in terms of club football and the ranking of clubs. The Global Ranking (Real-World Ranking) is multi-factorial, taking into account not only data from the Continental (Baseline) Ranking, The primary distinction between the Continental (Baseline) Ranking and the Global (Real-World) Ranking is that the latter employs a more extensive dataset. Thus, the Global (Real-World) Ranking of leagues consider factors concerning the appeal and impact of the leagues on international football, alongside the football reputation of the nation. These discrepancies in their calculation methodology are even more observable in the Global (Real-World) Ranking fo clubs, where also factor in a club’s domestic performance and the league’s global standing. Accordingly, football clubs that compete in highly-regarded domestic leagues but rarely get involved in international tournaments also appear in the Global (Real-World) Ranking and, at times, achieve commendable positions. Multinational Leagues
Some countries have more than one flag displayed. This means that clubs from other countries can participate in the league systems of these countries, although only those countries where foreign clubs are usually present in the first or second division are marked in this way.
Great Britain & Ireland
1. Parts of the UK: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland have a separate membership in UEFA / FIFA and have their own leagues.  2. Despite the Welsh Premier League – Swansea City and Cardiff City play in the English EFL Championship. Newport County, Wrexham AFC and other Welsh club Merthyr Town compete in lower divisions of English leagues system. 3. There are also other cases on the very lower level, when clubs form Wales, Scotland and England play in the leagues of the system belonging to other country in the UK. There are also some examples dealing with border issues e.g. the New Saints F.C. is a club representing Oswestry in England and at the same time Llansantffraid-ym-Mechain in Wales plays in Welsh Premier League. 4. Derry City F.C. based in Northern Ireland, plays in the league of Ireland Premier Division. 5. British Crown Dependencies: Jersey, Guernsey and Isle of Man have separate leagues and national teams and they are not member of UEFA / FIFA. Some of clubs from these countries participate in the lower divisions of English league system (Jersey Bulls F.C., Guernsey F.C., F.C. Isle of Man). The Priaulx League (Guernsey), the Jersey Football Combination (a league of Jersey) and the Isle of Man Football League are affiliated with the English FA, but they do not form a part of the English football league system. The Isle of Man is also a member of the FA, as county football assocciation. People born in the Isle of Man are eligible to play for official UK national teams. 6. Following British overseas territories have separate membership in FIFA and/or continental federations: Anguilla, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Gibraltar, Montserrat, and Turks & Caicos Islands.
France & Monaco
1. Monaco is not a member of UEFA/FIFA and does not have a professional league. AS Monaco FC plays in the French football league system. 2. Following French overseas territories have separate a membership in FIFA and/or continental federation: French Guiana, Guadeloupe, Martinique, New Caledonia, Reunion, Saint Martin and Tahiti (French Polynesia).
Netherlands
Following Dutch overseas territories have separate a membership in FIFA and/or CONCACAF: Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao and Sint Maarten.
Liechtenstein / Switzerland
Liechtenstein has a membership of UEFA/FIFA but all clubs in Liechtenstein play in the Swiss football league system. FC Büsingen is a German club based in the exclave of Büsingen that competes in the Swiss league system.
Spain & Andorra
FC Andorra is a club based in Encamp, Andorra. Although based in Andorra, they compete in the Spanish football league system (in lower divisions), not in the Andorran Primera Divisió.
Denmark
The Faroe Islands, autonomous territory within Denmark are a full member of UEFA and FIFA. They have Faroe Islands Premier League and national team. Other autonomous territory Greenland has no membership in FIFA & UEFA. Football Association of Greenland was a member of the Confederation of Independent Football Associations, however, CONIFA does not currently list Greenland as a member. Greenland has expressed interest in becoming a member of FIFA and UEFA. FIFA’s statutes require that member associations must be recognized as an “independent state” by the international community. Given Greenland’s status as an autonomous territory and not an independent state, it faces obstacles to FIFA membership. Similar criteria apply to UEFA (when the Faroe Islands applied for membership the conditions were not yet so stringent). Due to the refusal of FIFA and UEFA, Greenland has recently made an effort to become a member of CONCACAF, due to its geographical affiliation with North America. CONCACAF might be a more feasible option for Greenland. CONCACAF’s membership criteria are not as stringent as FIFA’s, and it includes non-sovereign entities. However, Greenland’s geographical location in the North Atlantic may present logistical challenges for participation in regional competitions. CONCACAF governs not only football in North America, as well as in Central America, in the Caribbean and three countries from South America.
Moldova & Transnistria
While Transnistria considers itself an independent state, Moldova and the international community, for the most part, do not recognize its independence. Instead, Transnistria is internationally recognized as part of Moldova. Sheriff Tiraspol, despite being based in Transnistria, participates in the Moldovan football league system. This arrangement likely has historical roots, and the details can be intricate. It may be a practical decision for the football club to compete in the Moldovan league due to the recognition of Moldova as a state and the lack of recognition for Transnistria. Additionally, participating in the Moldovan league provides Sheriff Tiraspol with the opportunity to compete at a higher level in European competitions, such as the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League. As Transnistria does not as a rule have international recognition, the Moldovan league is only branded with the Moldovan flag and Sheriff is branded as a club originating from Moldova. Notwithstanding the above, Transnistria runs its own league, not affiliated with FIFA or UEFA.
the Ranking Points, RPS and IC3
Ranking points (ELO points) are calculated according to the ELO method. In terms of leagues, these points are derived from the values obtained by clubs. The tables also show values labeled RPS_PIF and IC3. RPS (Relative Point Score) is a value obtained by converting ELO points acquired in a ranking according to the same formula used throughout the KA system. This practice enables the comparison of values from different continental rankings. Each RPS assigned to a certain league is multiplied by PIF (Power Index Federation), which allows for the determination of the KA Football Leagues Global Rating. The Inter-Continental Club Coefficient (IC3) is solely dedicated to clubs and is determined by their continental ranking points, taking into consideration the PIF (Power Index Federation) of the continent, as well as the AIF value. Due to the added value of the AIF, sometimes the IC3 can be higher for a club with fewer points. The IC3 is a crucial indicator for determining the KA Football Club Global Rating.
UEFA Members
As a general rule, the UEFA ranking includes all members except Liechtenstein, which does not provide a league game (54 members). However, if all clubs from the same country fail to receive points or obtain a negative score, that league cannot be included in the ranking.
