FWC 2026 Live Ranking Table

The FWC 2026 Live Ranking Table tracks all participating national teams during the tournament, using a transparent set of criteria based on stage reached, points, goal difference, goals scored and group-stage position.

This page presents the FWC 2026 Live Ranking Table, an updated ranking of all national teams participating in the tournament.

The table is designed to compare teams across the entire competition, from the group stage to the knockout rounds. It is not limited to the official group standings. Instead, it provides a unified tournament ranking based on the stage reached, match results and selected performance criteria.

The ranking is updated as the tournament progresses.

Ranking criteria and tie-breakers

Teams are ranked according to the following criteria:

1. Stage reached (Phase)

The first criterion is the stage reached by each team.

During the group stage, this criterion is based on the team’s current position in its group table. In later stages, teams that reach a more advanced round are ranked above teams eliminated earlier.

After the tournament has been completed, the top four positions are assigned according to the official final ranking of the tournament: champion, runner-up, third place and fourth place.

2. Points (PTS)

The second criterion is the number of points won in the tournament.

During the group stage, the standard football points system applies:

  • win: 3 points;
  • draw: 1 point;
  • loss: 0 points.

In the knockout stage, additional scoring rules are applied in order to reflect the different nature of knockout matches:

  • win after extra time: 2 points;
  • loss after extra time: 0.5 points;
  • win after penalty shootout: 1.5 points;
  • loss after penalty shootout: 0.75 points.

Penalty shootouts are therefore taken into account for points purposes, but not for goal-difference or goals-scored calculations.

3. Goal difference (GD)

The third criterion is goal difference.

Goal difference is calculated without penalty shootout goals.

4. Goals scored (GF)

The fourth criterion is the number of goals scored.

Goals scored in penalty shootouts are not included.

5. Group-stage position

The final criterion is the team’s position in the group-stage table.

This criterion is used as an additional ranking factor, especially when teams remain otherwise close under the previous criteria.

Interpretation

The FWC 2026 Live Ranking Table provides a broader tournament overview than the official group tables alone. It allows teams from different groups, and later from different knockout paths, to be compared within one consolidated ranking.

The ranking should be read as a dynamic tournament-performance table. It reflects how far each team has progressed, how many points it has collected, and how strong its results have been in terms of goal difference and goals scored.

The use of separate knockout-stage point rules is intended to distinguish between different types of knockout outcomes. A team winning in regular time remains in the strongest position, while extra-time and penalty-shootout results receive adjusted point values. This makes the table more informative than a simple list of teams ordered only by the round reached.

At the same time, penalty shootouts are excluded from goal-difference and goals-scored calculations. This preserves the distinction between match performance and tie-breaking procedures used after the match has ended.

The table will be updated throughout FWC 2026 as new results are added.
