Importance of continental rankings relative to global rankings
The Asian continental rankings (Asian Leagues Ranking & Asian Clubs Ranking) are technical in nature, as they only show the position of a league or club from the perspective of international cups, such as the Champions League. If you want to find a more accurate ranking in terms of actual football soccer strength and quality, you need to look at the KA Football Leagues Global Rating or the KA Football Club Global Rating.  What makes global rankings different from continental rankings is the consideration of more factors.  A global league rating takes into account, in addition to the performance of clubs in international competitions, the level of attractiveness and reputation as measured by the number of players from a given league appearing in top national teams (AIF). In addition, we take into account a country’s overall football soccer reputation, as measured by national team historical results and the most prestigious individual football soccer awards (NFRI). The global club ranking shows the difference from the continental ranking to an even greater extent. The global club ranking takes into account a club’s position in domestic league competitions in conjunction with the global league rating. This means that clubs that play in highly ranked leagues but rarely participate in continental competitions can also appear in the global club ranking, sometimes in decent places.
ELO AFC – International Matches Leagues & Clubs Performance Rankings
Each club receives points for match results according to the ELO method scheme. The points are determined based on the relative strength of the two opponents, resulting in the expected score factor being calculated first. Then using factors related to the completed match: the match importance factor, the score factor and the goal difference factor, a point value is determined, which decreases or increases the base value. Each of the continental rankings covers international matches arranged or recognized by FIFA or the continental federation. For Asia, this includes the Champions League, AFC Cup as well as the FIFA Club World Cup, and possibly also other Asian or inter-continental competitions, like: the Arab Club Champions Cup, SAFF Club Championship, J.League Cup / Copa Sudamericana Championship or Lusail Super Cup, if they appear on the calendar during the season.
Depreciation
The ELO method involves adding or subtracting points from a base value. This causes, when using the traditional ELO method, that if a club does not play matches then its ranking value remains constant – which distorts the real evaluation of the club. Therefore, ELO rankings in the KA system we additionally use a depreciation algorithm. It consists, in short, in the fact that the point value of a club not playing matches is gradually reduced. As a result, such a club after some time acquires a zero or negative value and drops out of the ranking. This can also translate into the national league and, as a result, the league can also get a zero or negative value. This is why some countries are not shown in the league table. This is due, among other things, to the fact that their point value is negative.
Multinational Leagues
Some countries have more than one flag displayed (on desktop screens: the small one in the corner of the bigger). This means that clubs from other countries can participate in the league systems of these countries, although only those countries where foreign clubs are usually present in the first or second division are marked in this way.
Australia / New Zealand
New Zealand club Wellington Phoenix competes in the Australian A-League.
Singapore / Japan
Albirex Niigata Singapore FC is a football club which compete in Singapore Premier League. The club is a satellite team of Albirex Niigata of Japan.
India
Previously I-League was the highest tier league in the Indian football system. The new Indian Super League (ISL), franchise-based league was officially launched on 21 October 2013. Initially AFC was recognising the ISL as a tournament, not a league. The ISL has been granted official recognition by the AFC in 2017, that was meaning there were two collateral top divisions in India from 2017/18. India clubs agreed to work together on league roadmap, according to it, among others, since season 2019-20, the ISL will attain the status of premiere league competition in Indian football and not later then season 2024-25, it will be implemented of a fully promotion and relegation system into the top league, and there will be an abolition of two parallel leagues. Indian Super League become the sole top-tier league in the country from 2022–23 season. I-League has lost the top-tier status, although the champion of the I-League will stand a chance to be promoted to the ISL with no participation fee. The first season of ISL with the new status has started to be played from 7 October 2022 and scheduled to end in March 2023.
Palestine
Palestine is a member of FIFA & AFC. Due to political reason the football division system is parted into two: the West Bank league system, with the West Bank Premier League, as the top division, and the Gaza Strip system, with the Gaza Strip Premier League as of the highest level division on this territory.
the Ranking Points, RPS and IC3
Ranking points (ELO points) are calculated according to the ELO method. In terms of leagues, these points are derived from the values obtained by clubs. The tables also show values labeled RPS and IC3. RPS (Relative Point Score) is a value that results from the fact that the ELO points obtained in a ranking are converted according to the same formula used throughout the KA system, which allows values from different continental rankings to be compared and combined to determine global rankings. IC3 (Inter-Continental Club Coefficient) is an indicator dedicated only for clubs and it is based on the continental ranking points, taking into account the index of the continent (Power Index Federation), as well as AIF value. It is very important indicator for the KA Football Club Global Rating.
