Each territory of continental federation/confederation is divided for leagues zones. Each league zone consists of several club zones (see the KA Club Global Rating).

The zones have been designated according to the regional structure of some Confederations (AFC, CAF, CONCACAF) or on the basis of criteria related to geographical and political factors, including in the context of football conditions (CONMEBOL, OFC, UEFA).

Special separate rules are applied as follows:

• OFC territory is not divided into zones; all OFC leagues belong to zone of the “Asia-Pacific”, and all of OFC clubs are in the “Australia & Oceania” zone; the “Australia & Oceania” comprises also clubs from AFC countries: Guam and Northern Mariana Islands, as well as two Indonesian provinces: West Papua and Papua;
• CONMEBOL territory belongs to one leagues zone of the “South America”; the “South America” collects also the Guianas leagues, which are members of CONCACAF; clubs from the Guianas belong to the “CONCACAF Caribbean and the Guianas”; CONMEBOL club area is dived into two zones: North CONMEBOL/ Amazonia Zone  and CONMEBOL Southern Cone Countries; this division relates it to entire countries and not to geographic regions; therefore the clubs from the southern Brazilian states are allocated to CONMEBOL North;
• Euro-Asian UEFA leagues zone comprises UEFA members Asian countries as well as trans-continental states: Russia, Kazachstan and Turkey; clubs from Russia in majority are assigned to “UEFA Eastern Europe” zone, but only those located in Asia or in six Russian republics of the North Caucasus belong to the “UEFA Central / North Asia and Caucasia”; clubs from East Thrace belong to “UEFA Central / East Mediterranean” zone, but other Turkish clubs are assigned to the “UEFA Asian Middle East”; Kazakh clubs, those from European part (if any), are allocated to “UEFA Eastern Europe & the Baltics” zone; 
• North Africa leagues zone and North America leagues zone have at either one clubs zone, respectively: the CAF North Africa and the CONCACAF North America;
• Other clubs are assigned to the zones according to their geographical location (e.g. Monaco & Corsica is in the Central / East Mediterranean Europe), unless it causes “moving” them to league zone unambiguously belonging to other continental confederation; then, in such cases clubs have to be assigned to the same club zones as most clubs from the specific country (e.g. if Egyptian clubs from Asian Sinai had been rated they would have been assigned to “CAF North Africa” zone, but not to the “AFC West Asian”).
